Romantic Floral Wedding Invitations | Folino Estate | Micro Wedding Inspiration

Micro-weddings and elopements have taken over the wedding industry while the covid pandemic runs rampant, and while it has taken me awhile to adjust to the change, I have to admit that there is something so wonderful about an intimate celebration (before you roll your eyes because you’ve heard this 100000 times, I say this as a “covid bride” myself)!

This beautiful day, planned and designed by Jenna Tracy Events, took place prior to covid, but seemed like the perfect portrayal of a curated, romantic micro wedding. I created a custom invitation suite, embellished with hand-drawn florals and pops of pink, to match Allium Floral Design’s exquisite floral garland on the table for eight, and included a detailed drawing of the beautiful Folino Estate - in all of its brick glory - for guests to have a preliminary peek into the sophisticated nature of the venue. Also included were monogrammed vow books on handmade paper for the bride and groom’s intimate ceremony, and place cards featuring each guest’s name in modern calligraphy. I may be biased, but perhaps the BEST thing about a smaller wedding is that you are able to allot more of your attention (and budget) to the details.

Ethereal Castle Wedding | Thornewood Castle - Seattle | Y&Y

Y&Y incorporated so many beautiful vintage elements and furniture pieces into their wedding and then topped them off with overflowing florals.

Favorite Moment
We didn’t know if Y’s family would be able to be there until the week before their wedding, so sending her down the aisle with her father was an especially sweet experience.

It’s not often that I get an inquiry for a Tuesday wedding, so when I do, I am in!

Y&Y had already spent a lot of time planning and designing their Thornewood Castle wedding by the time they asked me to join their team, but I am so happy + honored that I had the opportunity to be a part of something so meaningful! Y (the bride) grew up in China, but is in the States to get her double masters - she is ridiculously intelligent and has a way of being both kind and graceful, while also commanding the room. Our meetings were unique in that I had the privilege of learning so much more about her culture, and also about the Visa system; for most of our time working together, we did not know if her parents would be allowed into the US for their wedding, due to the intensive visitation process. Luckily, the week before their celebration, Y was given confirmation that they would be able to be there, but I remember being shocked at the idea that any person would not be able to have their parents at their wedding, and promptly added that to the list of stressors I wish I could fix as a wedding planner. Logistics and aesthetic are important, but family is everything.

On the aesthetic side of things - it’s hard to make a castle wedding even more magical than it already is, but Y&Y’s day was nothing short of stunning, complete with vintage furniture for their welcome table and seating chart, and gorgeous floral elements via the infinitely talented Kelly of Botanique. Guests ate delicious food from Twelve Baskets Catering, and then finished off the night with cake from Honey Crumb Cake Studio, dancing, and the most perfect golden hour by the lake. Every detail was carefully hand-chosen by Y, so that every guest would feel they were given the royal treatment. It was truly a wedding to remember.

Dreamy Wedding in a Lavender Field | Woodinville Lavender | J&D

Favorite Moment
After a nerve-wracking week of Seattle forecasts calling for rain, the weather held all day for J&D to celebrate with their guests as planned.

There’s nothing quite like an intimate gathering in the middle of a lavender field.

From the moment I met J, I knew that this wedding was going to focus on a few of my favorite things: a smaller guest count with a big focus on little details for their loved ones. J had already carefully curated the majority of her team + her design goals prior to our work starting together, but each time we met, she would tell me a new meaningful detail that she wanted to add. Throw the already incredible Woodinville Lavender venue setting into the mix and we were set for a truly special celebration!

In theory, J&D’s ceremony was a relatively simple setup of farmwood benches + an arch framed with flowers, but the end result was jaw-dropping. After saying their “I Dos”, J&D joined guests in enjoying the bar, bocce ball in the fields, and the signature 321 Foto experience. For dinner, Herban Feast served a gorgeous array of food, and guests enjoyed a dessert spread full of Hello Robin cookies and Frankie & Jo’s ice cream, before ending the night with dancing under the twinkle lights and a sparkler send-off. Every single moment was so intentional and full of beauty, and even the weather added dramatic flair to J&D’s day.

Here’s to the same level of intentional joy + love for J&D for years to come!

City Rooftop Wedding | WithinSodo - Seattle | A&J

Favorite Décor Elements
The vineyard chair / white farm bench combination for the ceremony, creating an intentional, yet cozy seating situation in a small space. Beer pong with rooftop views for guests to enjoy during cocktail hour and dancing. Continuing on the Disney / FUN notes above, A+J incorporated Disney (specifically, The Lion King) into essentially all of their DIY signage and paper goods AND came up with a witty play on words for their wedding hashtag - #hakunaphamata - combining their two last names in place of "matata".

Favorite Moment
A surprised J with a Chipotle burrito groom's cake and J invited all of his groomsmen up to cut / take first bites with him.

How often can you say that you were best friends with the GROOM for almost a decade before having the honor of planning his wedding!? J and I basically grew up together, (bagging groceries at our local grocery store throughout high school and bonding over a love for Disneyland / him giving me pep talks through the drama of that period of life), so when he told me he found A, I was over the moon and knew him well enough to know right away that she was THE One.

I worked alongside this power couple for a year, planning + designing their Seattle wedding at Within Sodo. Our meetings typically took place at their home - where they would often surprise me with delicious home-cooked meals - but if a meeting took place elsewhere, the adventure would always involve detours to cute little places (shoutout to Rachel's Ginger Beer!) before actually getting to our work destination. Not only are A+J thoughtful and two of the hardest working people I know, they are sassy, witty, and - most of all - FUN, which made our year together FLY by.

Every aspect of this wedding was curated to include A+J's favorite things, but more importantly, every aspect we planned and designed was guest-centric. Their love for good food + wanting to create an inviting, family-style dinner atmosphere led us to Skillet for dinner and rainbow cake from Cakes of Paradise for dessert. Their love for good times with friends led us to beer pong on the rooftop (with listed House Rules, of course). There was no lack of laughter and every guest was clearly thrilled to be a part of the celebration. It was such a special wedding for me to be a part of - as a planner AND friend - and one I will never forget.

Can we do it all again, Mr. + Mrs. Numata!? So much love for you!!

Fairytale Garden Wedding | Maplehurst Farm - Mt. Vernon | D&C

It's hard to write a blog post when there really are no words.

From our very first meeting, I was minorly (okay, majorly) obsessed with D&C. One of the main philosophies / taglines behind the KE wedding planning experience is "there's nothing quite like connecting + collaborating with two people who are head over heels in love", and these two are the EPITOME of that. Not only did they love + respect each other on a head-over-heels level, I also witnessed them show love + respect to every. single. person. in their lives. Including me, even when I was a complete stranger... which was short-lived because within minutes, it felt as if I had two new best friends.

To add to our immediate connection, it only made sense that before we even met, they had chosen to get married at one of my favorite wedding venues. Every single time I work at Maplehurst Farm, it is magical - some of my most cherished planning memories take place at this beautiful spot. Their celebration was very much added to that magical list, with their ceremony covered in beautiful blooms, dancing under the trees, the most romantic details, and joy. So much joy.

I'll let the photos tell the rest of the story, but as I write this, I am reminded of how grateful I am to have a job where I get to work with people like D&C - who invite me into one of the most exciting periods of their lives and trust me to be there for them, professionally + as a confidante and friend.

Intimate Spring Wedding | The Corson Building | G&J

For as long as I can remember, I've dreamed of coordinating a wedding at the Corson Building - aka a beautiful, secret garden-esque, Italian building randomly plopped right in the heart of Seattle - so my heart skipped a beat when I received an inquiry for a wedding there (from one of the sweetest couples ever). And for something I had built up in my mind for so long, I was far from disappointed. In fact, it was better than I ever could've imagined - not only was it an incredibly aesthetic experience from start to finish, the staff at the Corson Building blew me away with the level of care they provided to G&J, myself, and every vendor / guest involved. 

G&J's day took place on an overcast April day + was the epitome of the perfect intimate celebration: 29 guests, a shiba inu pup adorned with a floral crown, 4 courses of the most incredible food I've ever tasted, hundreds of stunning blooms, and gin + house-made rhubarb soda cocktails. Not to mention the kindest bride and groom + one kick-ass team.

This wedding was what dreams are made of.

Favorite Décor Elements: the dark wood tables covered in free-flowing, lush, white centerpieces and real lemon accents.
Also, that exposed brick wall backdrop for their minimalistic 2-tier cake.
Favorite Moment: champagne toasts on the patio at sunset.
